Morrissey and Marr lend a hand to the upcoming Smiths collection "The Sound Of The Smiths"

It seems the upcoming Smiths compilation rumored to be titled Hang The DJ is now officially called The Sound Of The Smiths.  Contrary to earlier reports that Morrissey and Marr were not involved with this release, NME now states that Morrissey actually named the collection while Marr oversaw the remastering. Seems they most likely choose the track list as well. 

The release will be available as a one-disc version featuring 23 singles or tracks intended as singles.  A special two-disc version will cater to the more hardcore fans offering a second disc of rarities, b-sides and live takes.
