More Morrissey news. We just can't seem to get enough and 2009 is shaping up to be the year of Moz.
True To You just released a whole bunch of new information on the upcoming new album, the upcoming tour and information on another reissue which is very unexpected.
Let's re-cap -
Morrissey's upcoming album Years Of Refusal finally has an official release date of February 23rd in the UK. No exact word on the U.S. release but most likely the following day on the 24th if he ever gets a U.S. label lined up. The first single will be I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris. Hardly a new song to fans as he played it all throughout his 2007 tour and beyond. The single will be backed with two other new songs Because Of My Poor Education and Shame Is The Name. Shame Is The Name contains guest vocals from Morrissey's buddy Chrissie Hynde. Random side note - Morrissey was recently out and about in Hollywood supporting Hynde at her Amoeba Records in-store. Details and photos over at Morrissey Solo.
Even better news, it looks like Morrissey will play the U.S. before his expected New Zealand and Australian dates. True To You states that Morrissey will "kick off a lengthy" U.S. tour on the UK release date for Years Of Refusal. Ugh, we need a list of those dates now. The anticipation is driving us mad. Where will he play this time in Los Angeles? Will we see him return to the newly restored Palladium?
And last but not least, Universal will release a reissued, redesigned and remastered version of Maladjusted. The release is due on week after the street date for Years Of Refusal, the same day BMG is set to release their Southpaw Grammar reissue. Check out all the details on Southpaw here.
Counting the days to another Morrissey show in Los Angeles.
