The latest installment in the DM studio clips gives us a little glimpse of Dave Gahan recording vocals for the track Jezebel through a vocoder. Listen carefully. Never heard anyone laugh through a vocoder before. I want one now.
Jezebel is taken from Depeche Mode's upcoming studio album titled Sounds Of The Universe due April 21st.
Morrissey and his band mates get fully naked for the inner sleeve of the upcoming I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris single.
7" inch (yes, insert 7" joke here) records cover up a certain area on each member (ha, ha, member).
Got to give Moz some credit to do a photo like this at 50 years of age. We love his sense of humor. Well done.

We've been away from the computer for a bit, so we are extremely late on posting the Coachella line-up. Everyone has seen it by now, but just in case.
It's good or bad or really good or really bad or a mix of both. It all depends on what music you like, what bands you're into and so on. We are a bit disappointed that there was no shocker in this year's picks. As always, we'll wait to see who else may be added in the coming weeks.
The good - Morrissey is playing Friday night, April 17th. The bad, no Blur reunion, no Specials reunion.
Besides the obvious (Morrissey), it's cool to see We Are Scientists, Jenny Lewis, Henry Rollins, M. Ward, Junior Boys, Blitzen Trapper and Silversun Pickups on board.

Australia has some major love for Chris Isaak. Apparently due to his insane popularity there, he is now considered an "honorary citizen". It's only fitting then that his new label (Isaak jumped from Warner to Universal) release a live album titled Live In Australia. The album was recorded during Isaak's "Best Of" tour in 2006 and it contains all the favorites. Live tracks are mixed with Isaak's witty in-between song banter. If you've ever seen this guy live then you know that half the fun of the show is his wacky personality. He jokes with the audience, the band and himself, and he is actually really funny.

M83 performed Kim and Jessie Tuesday night on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. This is pretty remarkable actually, as it marks their first TV appearance ever.
In some pretty cool LA based news, M83 will perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on March 7th. M83 will do their own set, the Philharmonic will do theirs (with pieces chosen in conjunction with M83) and then the two will perform selected songs together. Should be quite a night.

Two Morrissey pre-orders went on sale this week.
Mozzer's new album Years Of Refusal is available for pre-order over on iTunes now. All purchases include the bonus tracks Shame Is The Name and Because Of My Poor Education. Both songs are set as b-sides to the upcoming single release of I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris, due February 9th.
According to Morrissey Solo, it looks like the long, long awaited reissue of Southpaw Grammar will hit the UK on March 2nd. A pre-order link has been added to the HMV site. However at the time of this post, the entire HMV site is currently down? Keep checking back.
Oh and one more item. Amazon is currently offering a pre-order for Years Of Refusal on vinyl for only $12.33. Can't wait to get that one spinning on the turntable. Purchase here.

Brandon Flowers tackles the Time Out New York "Hot Seat" in an interview that delves into cigarettes, Morrissey, gambling and the now long lost infamous mustache.
He also discusses the day he got the news that a junior Flowers was on the way:
I’m a bigger New Order fan than Joy Division fan; I also prefer
Morrissey to the Smiths, which I guess is also sacrilegious. I have a
good New Order story: I was driving with Bernard Sumner in
Manchester—which was totally surreal—when my wife called me and told me
that we were having our baby. So that’ll be a cool story for my son
when he’s older.

It seems like forever ago that White Rose Movement released their excellent album Kick. We're missing their energy and their music, but they didn't really go anywhere. The band's been fine-tuning their follow up and they are previewing a demo of a track called The Stairs on their MySpace. Rumor has it, The Stairs will end up on the new album in finished form.
