One of our favorite Depeche Mode albums turns 16 today. Depeche Mode's Songs Of Faith And Devotion was released on March 23, 1993 in the U.S. and a day earlier on the 22nd in the UK. The album shot straight to number one in both countries.
I can still remember running out to Tower Records on release date to pick this one up. There was a line of folks all buying the album. A feeling of complete fan unification. Songs Of Faith And Devotion marks the last official Depeche Mode album to feature Alan Wilder before his departure.
Think of the great songs this one spawned; In Your Room, Condemnation, I Feel You and Walking In My Shoes.
Intensely amazing...
Check out In You Room live from the Devotional Tour below - what a performance! We love the stage set up. Amazing tour.

In my opinion once he grew that goatee it all went downhill from there.
And he looks cracked-out in this vid.

Really, not on this album though. I still think it is one of their best.

You cite some great tracks. However, IMHO the ones you don't mention are even better! What a stunning album.
