In an update to our post regarding Placebo's upcoming album Battle For The Sun -
The band is offering up the title track for download for free on their official site. Pop in your name and address and you're off.
Download here.
We're spinning it over and over. Brian Molko's vocals are drenched in intensity and we love the sharp, crisp, almost thematic aesthetic.
Listen below, but make sure to download it. The sound on the YouTube videos out there do not do the song justice:

ah shit, I'm not liking it. Hopefully the rest of the album doesn't sound like this. I was hoping they would get back on track after that awful last album Meds.
Also, Brian said the new album would be "brighter" than their past albums, this doesn't seem to follow that.

You don't like? Hmmm... I do so far. Meds wasn't bad, not their best, but pretty decent.

I liked the album, not their best, but not bad.
I don't get why people didn't like Meds though, I adored it, it's one of my favourite albums.

I agree, I loved "Meds" as well. How can you not love the title track, "In The Cold Light Of Morning", Infa-Red" and the rest of the lot?
