Hey folks.  We're taking a tiny hiatus away from the computer.  Regular posting will pick back up the weekend of May 10th.  Sorry for the delay.

A few quickies:

Morrissey madness this week - pick up one, two or all three of the new Something Is Squeezing My Skull singles. Also out this week: Southpaw Grammar and Maladjusted reissues.  Liner notes by the man himself.  New tracks on Southpaw and new photos for both.  

Depeche Mode.  The next single from Sounds Of The Universe will be Peace, due June 15th.  Feeling a bit of a DJ lately?  Remix the track over on Beatport.

Fred Perry celebrates The Specials 30th anniversary with three Specials inspired shirts

In celebration of The Specials 30th anniversary, Fred Perry collaborated with the band on three exclusive Specials inspired shirts.  The three shirts are due at the end of June. 

The official word from the Fred Perry site:

Fred Perry are proud to announce the pre-registration of The Specials 30th Anniversary shirts - one of the most seminal and influential bands in British music history. The band have worked closely with the Fred Perry design team to produce three shirt styles that encapsulate the iconic style of The Specials.

The shirts have been created around the core theme of 'black and white unite' so important to the band and their music. This is reflected in the monochrome palette and the unique twin coloured laurels and chequer detailing.

Being pretty insane fans of The Specials and Fred Perry, there is no greater match in our minds when it comes to music and fashion. 

Our favorite of the three shirts is pictured above.  We are registering as we type for that very shirt.

Depeche Mode "Sounds Of The Universe" studio clip #18, focaccia and midi fun

Depeche Mode are continuing their weekly studio clips beyond the recent release of their new album Sounds Of The Universe. 

In this week's segment, the guys discuss focaccia bread and salami as they tackle with an unruly Midi during sessions for Come Back

More Madness from this weekend's Camden Crawl

In addition to their rambunctious bus top street performance outside the Inverness Market, Madness also hopped off the bus for an impromptu performance of Madness at the Dublin Castle in Camden Town.

How much fun would this have been?  You're out for a pint and in come the whole lot of Madness for a little jam?

Madness rock a double-decker bus for this year's Camden Crawl

Madness took to the streets of Camden (via a double-decker bus) for this year's Camden Crawl.  The bus stopped just outside the Inverness Street Market for a rousing performance of Night Boat To Cairo.  There were Madness members outside the bus, on the bus, and heck, on top of the bus.  The crowd broke out into a skankin' frenzy with the sound of ska in the air.  We love when band's do stuff like this.  Take it to the streets and to the people.  The Camden Crawl kicked off last night and continues into the wee hours of Sunday morning.  Over 140 bands are expected to perform, including, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, 808 State, The Maccabees, The Fall, The View and more.

Morrissey releases live video for "Something Is Squeezing My Skull"

Can this really be the "official" video for Something Is Squeezing My Skull? It seems so.  We'd much prefer an actual video.  We love the song, but not too crazy on the video choice.  I mean cool to see some nicely shot recent live footage from Moz, but.....

Depeche Mode rock "Jimmy Kimmel Live"

The lines were pretty tragic, and the wait seemed never ending, but eventually Depeche Mode emerged onto the temporary stage at Hollywood and Argyle to perform seven songs.  Both Wrong and Personal Jesus were shot for the actual Jimmy Kimmel broadcast.  Those of us in attendance were also treated to a mini concert consisting of two new album tracks; Come Back and Peace, and three more DM classics; Walking In My Shoes, Enjoy The Silence and Never Let Me Down Again. 

The four older tracks sounded amazing, as always, and it was really great to hear Walking In My Shoes live again. Looking forward to the full set list for the band's Tour Of The Universe. 

Lots of crowd estimates being thrown around, but it seems close to12,000 folks rocked a closed off Hollywood Boulevard for the show.

The Specials kick off reunion tour; open show with "Do The Dog"

Oh, oh, oh, the below video gets us all riled up!  The Specials kicked off their 2009 reunion tour (yes, minus founding member Jerry Dammers) Tuesday at the Newcastle Academy in the UK. They played the Sheffield Academy last night. 

The clips online look phenomenal.  We are so bummed to be missing the guys back on stage together for the first time (officially) since their unfortunate split in 1981. 

Love the energy of the crowd as the curtains are pulled back for the show's opener Do The Dog:

Bat For Lashes perform "Daniel" on Later with Jools Holland"

Bat For Lashes stopped by Later with Jools Holland last night to perform Daniel off the recently released album Two Suns.

Daniel is one of our favorite tracks of 2009, so far.  Such a beautiful song.
