Pearl's Dream is taken from one of our favorite albums of the year (so far), Two Suns.
Dive in to witness brunette Natasha Kahn take on a blond version of herself. There's also a snarling wolf, illuminated planets and an outfit that appears to have been stolen from the closet of Brandon Flowers.

Fellow Bay Area resident Chris Isaak paid a visit to the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last night. Isaak sat down for an interview and discussed his artistic drawing ability (among other things) before hitting the stage for a performance of You Don't Cry Like I Do. The track is taken from his latest album, Mr. Lucky.
Notice Ferguson's extreme "pleasure" over Isaak's presence on the show in his intro. Stylin' suit by the way:
It's crazy to say, but we can officially call the Beastie Boys old school. The trio stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night for a little chat and a performance of signature track So What'cha Want. Nice to see the guys performing with Fallon's house band The Roots. Mike D, Ad-Rock and MCA can still deliver with the best of 'em. Fallon seemed pretty stoked for the guys to take his stage.
The Beasties are out promoting the re-release of their classic album Check Your Head. All kinds of formats and specialties going on - double CD version, digital download style, collector's vinyl set (4 pieces of wax), and so on. Feast your eyes and pick your persuasion here.

You know what late Sunday nights remind us of? The old days of sitting in front of the TV, with all the lights turned out, watching 120 minutes on MTV. Yep, the days when MTV actually played music. Even more crazy, they had an actual show dedicated to the more underground music which fed our souls. MTV kicked off the show on Sunday, March 10th in 1986 and it lived on, in one form or another, until its demise on Sunday. May 4th, 2003 via new home MTV2. Our favorite being the Dave Kendall years. Nobody quite got the whole scene like he did, and hell, he even looked the part (at the time), hence his interview for 120 Minutes "x-Ray" with Nitzer Ebb:

Uh? Kajagoogoo are reuniting? Say what? The "goo" are the latest in random 80's bands to reunite very unexpectedly. Add them to the list, think Spandau Ballet and The Blow Monkeys.

We did learn one thing from the band's new website however - Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes is responsible for the Kajagoogoo discovery.
Are you still asking "who the hell are they talking about?" You know, the "Too Shy" guys, remember? 1983? The amazing bleached mullet-esque hair on lead singer Christopher Hamill (Limahl)? We actually had a wig back in the kid days just like that, and wow, did it make for one heck of a Halloween costume. Wish we still had it...

Strangely, the Placebo official site lists the b-side for the 7" as Wouldn't It Be Nice - whereas retail titles the track Wouldn't It Be Good. One of them has got to be a typo.
While we were away, Depeche Mode performed four songs for Later With Jools Holland.
The mini-set list? The band's current single Wrong, old school classic Personal Jesus and equally classic Walking In My Shoes, as well as the Sounds Of The Universe album track Come Back.

Just came across this bit of randomness today as we were in fact spinning a Bauhaus record... Peter Murphy recorded a cover of John Lennon's Instant Karma for a recent Chase Bank commercial. The track will apparently hit iTunes in the next couple of weeks for purchase.
Murphy is coming back to the hood this year with stops at the House Of Blues Anaheim (6/8) and Hollywood (6/10), he will also play the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills on 6/11. Up in the Bay? Catch him at Bimbo's on 6/4 or head east to Sacramento for a 6/5 show at Harlow's.
