Blur rule Glastonbury. "Parklife" live

We don't like to use the word Epic much, but it seems to sum up the recent Blur reunion gigs. 

From the look of this BBC shot footage from last night's Glastonbury, the mates are at the top of their game. They all appear pretty stoked to be back on stage together. 

Parklife in 2009?  F**kin' awesome. The crowd are loving it.  Actor Phil Daniels, who provided guest vocals on the track originally, took the stage in a surprise appearance.

Morrissey, "You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby" live from Stockholm

As we mentioned below, Morrissey had an unexpected move up his sleeve last night. He surprised his Stockholm audience by throwing in The Smiths classic, You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby. 

Talk about a track we would love to see live, and talk about some ecstatic fans who finally got to witness an new addition to the Tour Of Refusal set list.  Finally!

We've been scouring the web for some sort of evidence and we've finally stumbled upon some fan shot video.  You've got to get past the screaming audience and the random girl singing along next to the camera that shot this.

The Psychedelic Furs and Happy Mondays hit the road

Although the two bands shared some crossover in the years in which they were musically active, it's hard not to think of the The Psychedelic Furs as a quintessential 80's band, and the Happy Mondays as a key part of the early 90's musical landscape.  An odd paring for sure, but not totally out of scope (or is it?).

The two bands will tour North American (and bits of Canada) this fall.  We must admit, we are intrigued.  The Furs' Talk Talk Talk has been in heavy rotation around here.

Morrissey tour check in, Stockholm

It's been ages since we've posted anything Moz-related.  Very unlike this site, eh?  He's still out there on the road, touring the world, canceling dates here, playing some there.  Tonight in Stockholm Morrissey surprised fans by playing You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby.  If you're a Smiths fan, we don't have to tell you how huge this is.

The Veils play California in July, Spaceland date confirmed

We may finally get to see The Veils live.  We miss them every time they are in town.  The band will play Spaceland on July 15th.  If you are in the OC, catch them the night before at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa.

Arctic Monkeys announce U.S. dates, reveal artwork for "Humbug"

The Arctic Monkeys will descend upon the U.S. for three headlining shows this summer.  Why just three and why nothing on the West Coast?  Bummer for us.  Boston, NYC and Chicago take note:

The cover art for the band's third album Humbug is above.  Humbug is due August 24th in the UK and the 25th here in the U.S.

Origami is just about the best damn thing that's happened to Echo Park.  If you haven't scoped out this vinyl only shop yet, do yourself a favor and swing by.  Better yet, stop in for the Daniel Ash in-store on Friday, June 26th.  Daniel will be spinning records and signing copies of his new 7"single, his cover of the David Essex classic Rock On.

Blur play Rough Trade in-store, live footage

We can't tell you how many times we wished we lived in the UK.

Last night Blur played an intimate in-store at the Rough Trade shop in London to celebrate the release of their new career retrospective Midlife: A Beginner's Guide To Blur. 

170 lucky fans were admitted to check out the madness.

The Thermals kick off "Noisevox", interview and live show

The Thermals sat down to chat with John Norris (ex-MTV VJ/news guy) for the very first episode of Noisevox.  The episode also contains four tracks performed live at Piano's in NYC. Noisevox is a brand new, online music magazine based on live takes and in-depth interviews.

The Specials added more dates to their 30th anniversary reunion tour.  We aren't going to get any love here in the U.S. are we?
