Folks always seem to find it interesting that we know a thing or two about Madonna tracks. We actually know a good deal about the old School Madonna material. The first album, definitely, stuff from the Virgin era and the two films to launch around that time (Vision Quest and Desperately Seeking Susan), yep. Anything beyond, well here and there. We love Ray Of Light and there are some great moments from Confessions.
The early 80's stuff is just so classic. Favorite track from the earlier days? Burning Up, hands down. We were obsessed with NYC as a kid and early Madonna kinda fit into the whole scene we tried to follow.
Anyway, the point of this post is to mention the upcoming Madonna greatest hits collection titled Celebration due 9/29. You've probably heard the new single of the same name. A second new track, Revolver (featuring Lil' Wayne), will also be included.
The set, which is available as a 2-disc or one disc version, does a pretty good job of covering Madonna's career from start to finish. Everyone has an opinion and of course everyone feels something was left off, or should have been left off.
We would have like to seen Gambler and Physical Attraction included. Where's Angel? Even Causing A Commotion would have been an interesting choice.
A pretty hefty DVD version is also available. Some exclusions here as well, but overall pretty thorough.
