a-ha announce U.S. shows in New York and LA

Lots of folks have been waiting on the a-ha U.S. dates and they've finally been announced.  The good news? There's a show right here in LA on May 15th at Club Nokia.  The bad news?  The only other U.S. shows announced are in New York City. Everyone else may need to book a flight if they want to catch the guys as part of their Farewell Tour. 

The New York and LA stops break down like this:

May 6 Nokia Theatre, New York City
May 7 Nokia Theatre, New York City
May 15 Club Nokia, Los Angeles

More new Goldfrapp, "Believer"

Believer is the second track to hit the web from Goldfrapp's upcoming album Head First.  Now that we are two tracks in, the new direction is pretty solidified.  Very 80's and very poppy.  Rocket grew on us quickly, but our minds are not made up on this track just yet.

Peter Murphy readies first webcast of "Secret Bee Series"

The details are out.

Murphy in a secret studio location up in the Catskill Mountains, performing selections from his solo repertoire, as well as the Bauhaus body of work.  Never before performed selections from the body to boot - nice.

Announcing The Peter Murphy Secret Bee Series Webcast Episode One February 11, 2010 7PM EST (11:59 PM GMT)

This not-to-be-missed event will be broadcast live from a secret and extremely intimate studio location, deep in the Catskill Mountains, and available only to fans who subscribe. Peter will perform bare-boned, crackling, sparked performances of his solo classics, previews of up and coming new album songs alongside never before performed Bauhaus songs. The webcast will include an interactive behind the scenes experience. Peter has assembled an all-star cast for the event including John Andrews on guitar, Brian Viglione of Dresden Dolls on drums and percussion and Zef NoiSe on electric violin.

New Goldfrapp, "Rocket"

Upon the first few listens we were pretty skeptical, but a weekend of spins has convinced us otherwise.  Play it a few times and tell us you're not hooked?  It's dancey, it's poppy, and it's all kind of 80's.  Single cover art above.  Alison rocks the pantsuit.

On this day in 1986, Depeche Mode's "It's Called A Heart"

On this day back in 1986...

Depeche Mode released the U.S. single for It's Called A Heart. 

The U.S. 12" featured Flexible (Deportation Mix) as the b-side. The Emotion Remix, Emotion Dub and Single Version of It's Called A Heart were all included as well. The original UK b-side, Fly On The Windscreen, was dropped from the American release. The track does not appear on any official album, but was an important addition to the Catching Up With Depeche Mode compilation released in North America in 1985.
