Every now and then we discover a track, or in this case an artist, that we were completely unfamiliar with in the 80's. It always shocks us, especially when it falls into the New Wave or Modern Rock categories.
This week's discovery? Peter Godwin (thanks to the amazing Viva Radio DJs). Heard the track Art Of Love (some great 80's style UK remix), which lead to other discoveries such as the video for Baby's In The Mountains, a hit Godwin had back in the early 80's. Remember that? Or perhaps the equally successful Images of Heaven?
We were lucky enough to find a sealed vinyl copy of Godwin's out-of-print album Correspondence, featuring both Art Of Love and Baby's In The Mountains. Love finding a still sealed record from 1983 in 2010.
Still not sure how Godwin missed our radar back in the day?

I used to love this song - had the 45 even. It goes wayyyyyyyyy back for me to the era when we had a Commodore 64! THOSE WERE THE DAYS.
PS I did a post on it about 4 yrs ago, which Chartrigger commented on, then known as J'ason D'luv.

First off, now sure why the hell I originally posted it as "Babies" vs. "Baby's", I was delirious today. Fixed now.
Also, don't know how I ever missed this one. "Images Of Heaven" would have been right up my New Wave alley. Found the record and got the "Greatest Hits" CD already. Catching up on lost time.
I was right there with you on the Commodore 64!

I thought you and your readers might like the interview show I did with Peter Godwin recently. It covers Metro, his solo 80s output, his collaboration with Steve Winwood and his new band Nuevo. Lots of good music and talk! It streams free at http://neatnetnoise.com/radio-show/2011/04/interview-with-peter-godwin-no-streaming/
