Recent obsession part two, New Politics "Yeah Yeah Yeah"

Speaking of recent obsessions below, nothing beats our freakish love for Yeah Yeah Yeah by New Politics. 

You know how every once in a great while a song comes along that you just can't get the f**k out of your head? And you really don't want to?  That's Yeah Yeah Yeah right now for us, and thousands of others. 

Come on, play it, listen, no way it won't be in your head.  A rad song to drive fast too, drink lots of shots, or kick soccer balls around with aggression.

Don't know much about these guys besides the fact that they reside in Boston (another Boston obsession, see Lemonade post below), but originally hail from Denmark.  Their self-titled debut is due July 13th and something about this track reminds us of Local H via the 90's. 

Listen and watch below.  Be on the lookout for front man David Boyd's insane headstand, feet on the ceiling dance move.  It may be a first. 

Recent obsession: Lemonade's "Lifted"

 

Not the drink of course, but the insanely great musical outfit named after the famed beverage.  We're completely obsessed with Lemonade lately.  Specifically their track Lifted.  That bizarre combo of steel drums and that little looping laughter, classic.  The members originally hail from San Fransisco and have since transplanted to Boston.  The once Bay-centric band's recent EP Pure Moods is full of excellent electronic-based tracks and one hell of an amazing cover, above.

Chris Isaak "Live At The Fillmore" album art, track list

In an expansion to our original post on Chris Isaak's upcoming live album release, Live At The Fillmore, we now have the cover art (above) and the track listing (below). 

The live album is due next week on June 15th.  Wow, that was fast? What better place to record an Isaak show then in the Bay Area, his homeland?  And the Fillmore to boot.

New Brandon Flowers solo musical tease

There's some new music up on the Brandon Flowers site.  Nothing that seems to be a full song, but more teasing of what's to come.  It sounds good though, very thematic and a little orchestral feeling.  Looking forward to hearing the finished product of Brandon's solo work, and seeing how it differs from his work with The Killers. 

The album, Flamingo, releases in September.  A solo tour is due to follow.  More details on the record in our previous post.

Yazoo set live album release

Hey, what do you know? Alison and Vince plan to release a live album titled Reconnected Live on September 27th as a 2-CD set and download.

The material was recorded during Yazoo's infamous return to the stage in over 25 years during the summer of '08.  These shows also marked the first time that Nobody's Diary was performed live.

We wonder if this was taken from multiple shows or encompasses one complete show in one city?

New Video: Miike Snow "The Rabbit"

Miike Snow just released a video for new single, The Rabbit, mixed by non other than the infamous Stuart Price. 

No idea WTF is going on in this video, but that's why we love it.  A bit freaky, random, and just out there.  Watch and just take in the 2 Live Crew reference, if that doesn't make it one of the best videos of recent months, we don't know what would. For once, a new video that does not bore us...
