Time for new music from one of our favorites from the great Northwest. The Thermals return with Personal Life, due next Tuesday, the 7th.

We were just wondering what was up with the Friendly Fires crew and guess what? They've got a full on mix compilation hitting the streets September 27th as part of the ongoing Bugged Out Suck My Deck series.
The collection features a brand new Friendly Fires track, Stay Here, created in conjuntion with Toronto House folks Azari & III.
Listen here. We really dig it. Signature Fires for sure, but a few steps beyond the usual.
We've also got new respect for the guys as they kick off the mix with none other then Egyptian Lover's Freak-A-Holic.

And then there were three... the trimmed down version of Interpol just released their video for Barricade. The track is taken from their upcoming selt-titled fourth album.
The band had this to say about the shoot on their official site -
Check out our new video for Barricade. It was directed by Moh Azima and was shot at the Floyd Bennett Airfield in Brooklyn. It was a long day and there was lots of mosquitoes but it all was worth it.

I think we like the deluxe edition cover vs. the standard version. Actually, we keep going back and forth. We love this whole photo shoot. What does the deluxe edition include besides the obvious actual album?

There's a few interesting things to note about the video for Touched By The Hand Of God. Not only is the video based on a New Order classic (the song gets better and better with age), but the video boasts a famous actor and a Oscar winning director.
Look closely for cut scenes, featuring a young Bill Paxton, interspersed between the band's mockery of heavy metal/hair band videos at the time.
The video was directed by Oscar winner Kathryn Bigelow, who won best director in 2009 for The Hurt Locker.

Paul Weller performed Jam favorite Start at the V Festival this past weekend. We love that Weller keeps Jam songs in rotation during all of his live sets.
Weller's 10th solo album, Wake Up The Nation, is out now. We admit we've not heard it yet, so we think a proper listen is in order. The album has been nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize as well. See the full list of nominees here.
Finally scored a near mint copy of Southpaw Grammar on vinyl complete with limited edition booklet. Southpaw has always been one of our favorite Moz records. This makes for a great night of record shopping.
